RAS AL KHAIMAH // Fines issued by a speed camera have been cancelled after it was found to have wrongly recorded drivers as speeding.
Brigadier Ghanem Ahmed Ghanem, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said numerous motorists had reported that the camera had flashed them even though they were driving below the speed limit.
The camera supplier was contacted and the device was reprogrammed to match the legal speed limit on the road.
Brig Ghanem said all offences recorded by the device had been deleted.
