RAK lorry driver dies after vehicle falls into sea

RAS AL KHAIMAH // A lorry driver in his twenties died after his vehicle fell in the sea off the coast of Ras Al Khaimah.

RAK Police said on Thursday that the asphalt had eroded on the road where the lorry driver was transporting equipment from a port.

The lorry slid off the road into the water and the driver, who was from an Asian country, drowned.

His body was taken to hospital to be delivered to his relatives.

First Lt Mohammed Al Shehhi, head of CID at Al Shaam police station, said the RAK Police operations centre had received a call reporting the incident and police and ambulance were sent to the scene.
