DUBAI // Services on the Dubai Metro will be extended on Thursday for the Prophet’s birthday holiday.
The Red Line service will begin at 5.30am and the Green Line at 5.50am, and both will run until 1am on Friday.
Dubai Tram services will operate from 6.30am until 1am.
Buses and the main bus stations, such as the Gold Souk, will operate from 4.25am until 1am. Al Ghubaiba Station will open at 5am and continue until 12.10am.
Buses to metro stations at Abu Hail, Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Burj Khalifa and Etisalat will run from 5.15am until 1.10am.
There will be a 24-hour intercity bus service to Sharjah, and between 5am and 11.40pm to Abu Dhabi.
All paid parking zones in Dubai will be free until after the weekend, except for the Fish Market parking and the multilevel parking terminal.
Vehicle testing and registration centres will be closed on Thursday. Customer service centres will also close for the holiday, and will reopen next Sunday.
