Licence plates bring in Dh30m at Dubai auction

DUBAI // More than Dh30 million was raised during a special licence plate auction in Dubai.

The Roads and Transport Authority raised Dh32.48 million at its 94th Open Auction for Distinctive Licensing Plates.

Five plates took the lion’s share of the revenues, the RTA said on Tuesday.

The Z 777 plate alone brought in Dh3.5m, while plate O 18 was sold for Dh3.08m and U 66 for Dh3m, said Ahmed Bahrozyan, chief executive of the RTA Licensing Agency.

Plate M 29 was sold for Dh1.82m and R 786 for Dh1m, he said.
