There was good news for motorists on Wednesday as the price of fuel has dropped slightly for March:
- Super 98 decreased to 2.33 a litre from 2.36 in February.
- Special 95 is 2.22, down from 2.25
- E-Plus 91 is 2.14 which fell from 2.17
- Diesel will be 2.43, falling from 2.49
The new prices were announced by the Ministry of Energy and Industry on Wednesday and are inclusive of 5 per cent VAT.
Fuel prices were liberalised about two years ago and now prices move with the market.
UAE fuel prices are linked to crude oil prices, with Brent crude currently trading at US$65 a barrel.
