DUBAI // Four people were killed and 20 people injured in traffic incidents since the beginning of Ramadan, Dubai Police figures show.

Of the 30 crashes between June 29 and July 15, police recorded 21 car collisions in which three people died, of which one person died after their vehicle flipped over.

The incidents included two other cases of flipped cars, two cases of run-over accidents and one case of a car running into a tree, a car running into a cement barrier, a car running into a plastic barrier and another case of a driver running into a metal barrier.

Police said that three people were seriously injured, eight were moderately injured and nine people sustained minor injuries during the holy month.

Figures also showed that most incidents – six cases – were due to drivers swerving without warning, followed by five cases of tailgating and four of drink driving.
