RAS AL KHAIMAH // A 38-year-old man was injured when the lorry he was driving smashed into a house.
The driver, I A A, from an unspecified Asian country, suffered several injuries in the accident on Wednesday, said Col Ahmed Al Naqbi, deputy director of traffic and patrols at Ras Al Khaimah Police.
Emergency crews provided first aid to the driver at the scene and he was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment.
Col Al Naqbi, speaking after he visited the scene, said the lorry driver lost control “due to malaise, lack of sleep and exhaustion”.
He urged all drivers to be cautious and to rest if they felt tired or stressed. An accident report was compiled and handed over to authorities ahead of any possible legal procedures.
