Dubai taxi drivers rewarded for ‘classy services’

The cab drivers were rewarded according to safety, honesty, customer complaints, mystery shopper/rider results, daily income per km, crashes, traffic fines, and black points.

More than 150 Dubai taxi drivers who have exhibited a keenness to deliver “classy services” have been rewarded.

Marwan Othman, director of human resources the Dubai Taxi Corporation, said their Drivers Performance Management System tracks the daily performance of cabdrivers, reducing the rate of accidents and offences, motivating high-performing drivers and providing further training to poor-performing drivers or those flouting the rules.

The 155 drivers were rewarded according to safety, honesty, customer complaints, mystery shopper/rider results, daily income per kilometre, crashes, traffic fines and black points.

The top five of those drivers were rewarded Dh10,000 each, 50 drivers were rewarded Dh5,000 each and the other 100 were rewarded Dh2,000 each.
