Travellers in Dubai have taken more than 52 million taxi trips in the first half of the year, according to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Bookings made through the RTA booking and dispatch centre had a growth rate of as much as 22 per cent, said Dr Yousef Mohammed Al Ali, chief executive of the RTA Public Transport Agency.
Rider statistics are taken with the aim of improving the taxi services, he said.
