A police officer who was run over while helping a woman whose car had broken down was visited by the commander-in-chief of Dubai Police on Sunday.
Saeed Shakal, who works in the Search and Rescue department of Dubai Police, was run over earlier this month after having stopped to help the woman whose car had stalled on Dubai — Al Ain Road.
The extent of his injuries were not disclosed nor were any details about the driver who hit him. An image of the Mr Shakal, released by police, shows him laying in a hospital bed with what appears to be a broken right arm. His other arm is also bound in a soft cast.
On Sunday, Maj Gen Mohammed Al Marri, along with the head of General Department of Organisation Protective Security and Emergency, Brig Abdullah Al Ghanithi, visited Mr Shakal at Rashid Hospital to enquire after his health and wish him a speedy recovery.
Mr Shakal thanked Maj Gen Al Marri for his visit, saying the move reflected the concern and affection the high command of Dubai Police has for its employees.
