DUBAI// Phase I of the detour affecting Casablanca, Marrakech and Airport Roads will open on Thursday.
The Roads and Transport Authority say the changes affect 1.1 kilometres and will improve traffic flow at junctions by reducing waiting times to one minute.
The diversion runs from the intersection of Casablanca Road with Airport Road (Cargo Village intersection) up to the junction of Marrakech Road with Airport Road (in the direction from Deira to Rashidiya).
The detour, which will be in place until the end of August, is part of ongoing RTA work to improve traffic flow in the area.
