An eight-year-old died on Sunday when his 28-year-old brother accidentally ran him over - the second such incident in as many weeks.
The brother was reversing in Al Maamoura, Ras Al Khaimah, when he hit his sibling, Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National reported.
The child died at the scene and police continue to investigate.
On September 30, a toddler was killed after her cousin drove away from the family home, in Ajman.
The issue is a common one, with 37 children in Sharjah killed last year. In total, 223 such accidents took place and in most cases, young children were accidentally run over by parents or other relatives.
