CCTV to catch illegal activity on Sharjah streets



Sharjah// CCTV cameras will alert the authorities to cars illegally parked on the hard shoulder of highways and trucks using main roads outside the permitted hours.

The systems have been deployed on existing traffic cameras across the emirate, said Colonel Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Director General of Central Operations in Sharjah.

“The systems were upgraded successfully, it will allow us to catch reckless drivers who cross the yellow line that is used for emergencies, furthermore, heavy vehicle that don’t have permission to move on the roads during the curfew hours will be caught by the new systems and fined.”

The Colonel urged the drivers to drive carefully and responsibly to avoid tragic accidents.
