Body of Sharjah motorcyclist found

SHARJAH // Police found the body of a young man who died in a motorcycle crash in Rafada five hours after he was reported missing.

The man, a 22-year-old from the Comoros Islands, disappeared on Friday and his friends said he headed out for a ride on his 250cc motorbike to Al Bidayar area of Sharjah.

His friend M K A, a Jordanian, notified Al Dhaid Police Station of his disappearance and said that he, with a few other friends, had headed to the area to search for their missing friend.

They found his GMC vehicle with the motorbike trailer, but did not find him.

All police stations in the area were notified to search for the missing youngster. Sharjah Air Wing was also called for assistance and a helicopter was dispatched to survey the area.

At 6:30am on Saturday, the air crew spotted the motorbike and found that it was involved in a roll-over accident in the middle of the desert with the dead body of the missing man, A M B, lying nearby.

The body was airlifted to Al Dhaid Hospital where the death was confirmed.
