Adnoc to extend pay to pump service across the Northern Emirates

Drivers will pay Dh10 for an attendant to fill their tanks from Sunday

Motorists in the Northern Emirates will have to pay to have their petrol pumped or fill up themselves for free.

Adnoc will roll out its pay to pump service across the Northern Emirates from next week.

Customers in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman will be able to take advantage of the free self-service system from this Sunday - or pay a Dh10 fee to have attendant fill up your tank by using the Premium Flex service.

Adnoc will give away 100,000 smart tags as part of the launch, which enable customers to refuel and pay for their petrol via a customer’s prepaid smart wallet, removing the need to use cash or cards at the pump.

“This is about offering our customers choice at the pump, as well as in our retail outlets, with the highest quality goods and services available,” said Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, Adnoc Distribution’s acting chief executive.

“Crucial to this proposition is the investment we have made in technology which will benefit the customer by driving efficiency. All of these developments are underpinned by our first priority, safety.”

The Dh10 includes a windscreen wash, tyre pressure check and rewards which can be redeemed inside Oasis convenience stores.

The start of the permanent scheme follows a free trial period of the premium service in the Northern Emirates.

The initiative has been up-and-running in Abu Dhabi since the end of June.
