ABU DHABI // The Traffic and Patrols Department at Abu Dhabi Police invited private sector companies to help reduce traffic accidents.
They have urged company drivers to abide by traffic laws and speed limits, to stay alert and commit to defined lanes, fasten their seat-belts, and refrain from using their phones while driving to maintain their own safety and that of other road users.
A campaign in cooperation with Saeed was conducted among drivers employed by Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company.
Lt Col Jamal Al Ameri, head of public relations at the Department of Traffic and Patrols, stressed that Abu Dhabi Police’s traffic safety strategy gives great importance to partnerships with the private sector by organising preventive awareness campaigns such as this one, which reached 180 drivers.
He said stressed the dangers of taking over from the hard shoulder, noting that violators will have their vehicles impounded, get a Dh1600 fine, 18 black traffic points and they will be transferred to prosecution should they repeat such offence.
