Abu Dhabi Police are reminding motorists to reduce their speeds and exercise caution when driving in conditions of fog and low visibility.
Colonel Jamal Salem Al Ameri advised motorists to double the normal safety distance between vehicles to avoid accidents.
He warned motorists against attempting to overtake other vehicles or changing lanes in such conditions.
He also warned against using a vehicle’s high beam lights, saying the intensity of the light reflects off of the fog can further hindering visibility.
Motorists should park their cars on the right shoulder of the road in cases of dense fog and low visibility, then use hazard lights to ensure their safety.
Police advise motorists to stay up-to-date with weather forecasts, as low visibility conditions occur throughout the year.
