Traffic safety campaign in Sharjah’s Eastern Region continues

Following a police safety campaign, 41 vehicles have been impounded by Sharjah Police since November.

Sharjah Police impounded 41 vehicles and registered 160 traffic offences in the Eastern Region, following a traffic safety campaign launched last month.

The campaign, which took place in Khorfakkan and Kalba, also led to the arrest of 75 suspects for criminal offences including illegally residing in the country.

Colonel Ahmed Al Mutawaa, deputy director of the Eastern Region Police Department, said the campaign is ongoing and that unannounced inspections will be carried out to deter potential offenders from jeopardising security.
