RAS AL KHAIMAH // Three young Emirati men have been arrested and accused of robbing 15 shops across the emirate.
The trio, aged between 17 and 20, were arrested less than 24 hours from when the thefts were reported, said Colonel Abdullah Ali Mankhas, director of RAK Police’s Criminal Investigation Department.
Inspections of the crime scenes showed that the same break-in method was used in each robbery, he said.
An investigation team soon led to one of the suspects and the three were arrested in the same car together at night.
They confessed to the robberies, which included stealing cash and valuable items. These items were found in their car and at their homes.
The men have been referred to prosecutors.
Police said the number of police patrols around commercial areas has been increased as a result.
