SHARJAH // Three men who stole money and gold jewellery from a house have been arrested.
The Pakistanis were detained by Sharjah Police Criminal Investigation Department after the robbery in Al Muwafja.
Al Heera police station received a call that a house had been robbed while the owners were overseas, with the robbers making off with money, gold and a number of other high-value, transportable goods. They also stole one of the cars parked at the home.
Police investigations led them to a Pakistani who used to work at a farm owned by the homeowner. He had been fired for stealing livestock from the farm and selling it.
He confessed to robbing the house, along with two accomplices, in addition to stealing a Lexus.
The other two were arrested at their homes, where a stash of money and gold jewellery was found. They admitted that they had already sold the car.
Police have sent reports to Sharjah’s Public Prosecution.
