A device to disarm underwater explosives,and another used to search for vehicles, were among Dubai Police’s inventions last year.
Brig Abdullah Al Ghaithi, head of the General Directorate for the Protection of Infrastructure, Facilities and Emergencies, said that the directorate also carried out 4,335 missions.
Among other inventions was an electrical shield that can disable up to 10 people simultaneously without injury in the event of a violent gathering, The National's Arabic-language sister paper, Al Ittihad, reported.
