Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, arrived this evening in Dhahran in Saudi Arabia to watch the Joint Gulf Shield-1 military drill at the invitation of King Salman. The military drill will conclude on Monday in the presence of a number of leaders of friendly countries participating in the exercise. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed was welcomed on arrival at King Abdul Aziz Air Base in Dhahran by Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, governor of the Eastern Region, and his deputy, Ahmed bin Fahad bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed was also greeted by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE ambassador to Saudi Arabia; Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy; and Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed was accompanied by National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan and a number of top officials.
