Sharjah Police launch campaign to tackle jet ski accidents

Sharjah Police have launched a campaign to curb the number of jet ski related accidents in the emirate.

SHARJAH // Police in Sharjah have launched a campaign to try and curb the number of jet ski accidents at the emirate's beaches.

The campaign, targeting riders, owners and renters, has seen 23,000 awareness brochures handed out at beaches where the sport is popular.

Police said that in a recent incident a jet skier suffered minor shoulder injuries when he tipped over his craft - and paramedics had to be called in.

Major Rashid bin Sandal, head of the Sharjah Police Ambulance and Rescue Unit, said the campaign provides safety tips to jet skiers.
