DUBAI // A man who sexually assaulted a woman then laughed at her with his friends has been jailed for three months.
The Indian, 25, touched an Egyptian woman’s bottom on May 31 last year at Mall of the Emirates while she was queuing to use an ATM.
The woman, an administrative manager at a private company, thought it had happened by mistake and ignored the incident. But seconds later she saw him standing near by with some friends and he was pointing at her and laughing.
She walked over to him and called security.
He denied a charge of sexual assault in court last June, saying it was an accident. “My left shoulder touched her back by mistake when I passed by,” he told investigators.
But camera footage showed him sticking the front of his body into her back. Dubai Criminal Court ruled he be deported after serving his prison term.
