The sermon this week urges Muslims to repent and seek forgiveness.
Human beings are forgetful and negligent by nature and are subject to faults and disobedience, and Allah the Almighty and Merciful covers their mistakes and has great forgiveness for all, the sermon reads.
“Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful’.” [39:53].
“Allah covers your sins, so do not insist on disobeying, and fear the day you will go back to Him and He will reveal your deeds,” the sermon says.
“Take action and repent, seek forgiveness from all mistake, as Allah’s forgiveness included all sins, and He has expanded His mercy to all mankind.”
Repenting sins is one of the most important and greatest acts of worship, which is based on great piety.
To ask for forgiveness means to shade the sins of the world, and to ask forgiveness in the Hereafter, and it comes after regret after sinning, and the intention to stop sinning and not going back to disobedience.
“And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins – and who can forgive sins except Allah ? – and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know.” [3:135].
If a person repents his sin, and asks for Allah’s forgiveness, he cleanses his heart and releases his sorrows, the sermon reads.
