Hazza Al Mansouri posted the image of the Soyuz to his Twitter page.

The UAE's history-making astronaut has shared his first photograph taken from space.

Hazza Al Mansouri snapped a beautiful image of the Soyuz spacecraft that carried him into orbit.

His photo was taken through one of the International Space Station's portholes and shows the craft docked outside.

In the background can be seen puffy white clouds wrapped around the Earth.

Maj Al Mansouri's image was posted to his Twitter account.

The stunning shot proved a hit back on Earth, collecting more than 10,000 'likes' and 5,000 retweets from Maj Al Mansouri's growing army of social media followers.

"Hazza's eyes can take you to space ... I [have] taken the first photo from the International Space Station," the Emirati astronaut wrote.

"I document my dream from the other side of the sky."

Maj Al Mansouri blasted off for the ISS on Wednesday and returns on Thursday.

Maj Hazza Al Mansouri will complete a series of assessments during the mock mission in Russia this weekend.

The history-making astronaut is joined in Russia by reserve astronaut, Sultan Al Neyadi.
