School children taught how to react to fire as they tour Civil Defence

Almost 50 school children have been taught by Ajman Civil Defence how to react if a fire breaks out in a bid to save lives.

The 46 youngsters were given a talk on Sunday morning as part of their summer course organised by Ajman Cultural Centre. They visited Ajman General Department of Civil Defence and were trained in how to use fire extinguishers and how to act in emergencies at home.

The group were taken on a tour of the department and were briefed on the nature of the work of the operations room, the hotline, civil defence vehicles and equipment used in rescue operations and firefighting.

The children were also taught how to properly report a fire emergency by dialling 997 and how to provide an accurate location and what other information they would be asked for when reporting an emergency.
