DUBAI // A salesman has been sentenced to three months in prison for molesting a woman.

Dubai Criminal Court was told that Pakistani M A, 22, followed the victim down an alleyway and molested her as she was trying to get into her car.

“I left work and was heading towards my car,” said Pakistani Z E, 28.

“It was nearly 10.30am on July 21 this year, it was the fifth day of Eid Al Fitr, when I passed near a car and saw a number of men inside who looked at me and started laughing.”

The woman carried on walking down the alley in Al Satwa when someone grabbed her from behind. She said that at first she thought it was her sister.

“But when the hands touched my breast I looked and saw a man then pushed him away and screamed,” said Z E.

Z E ran back to the beauty salon where she worked and told her sister what had happened. Both of them went to look for Z E’s attacker.

The victim said she saw M A sitting in a car. “I was already in my car so I lowered my window and confronted him, he admitted touching me but when I got out of the vehicle and said that I will call police, he said he didn’t touch me,” said Z E.

The victim took a photo of M A and the car he was in then went with her sister to Al Rafaa police station to report the incident.

M A will be deported after serving his jail term.
