ABU DHABI // The Grand Continental Flamingo Hotel on Hamdan Street was evacuated on Saturday evening after a fire broke out on the 21st floor.
The manager on duty at the time of the incident said the fire started on the rooftop.
No injuries were reported, he said.
Abu Dhabi Civil Defence controlled the fire shortly after being called out, and damage to the building’s interior was minimal, the manager said.
Guests and staff were able to re-enter the hotel one hour after the fire broke out.
