ABU DHABI // About 1,000 schoolchildren in Yemen’s Mukalla district will receive educational materials through an Emirates Red Crescent initiative.
The Red Crescent started to distribute school supplies to pupils this week, reported Wam, the state news agency.
The aim is to help underprivileged families affected by adverse conditions in the country and to encourage pupils to continue their education.
The school supplies initiative is one of several vital charitable projects that the Red Crescent is carrying out in Yemen, in addition to the distribution of relief aid, Wam said.
