Ras Al Khaimah thief caught by good samaritans

RAS AL KHAIMAH // Members of the public helped catch a would-be robber less than 5 minutes after he stole Dh800,000 from a currency exchange house.

Ras Al Khaimah Police said that officers called to the scene on Friday morning witnessed the man being tackled by several people who had been walking close by the scene.

During his arrest, the man was found to be carrying a toy gun, said Brig Abdullah Ali Mankhas, director of RAK CID.

Police said the suspect had arrived in the country 18 days prior to carrying out the robbery.
