RAS AL KHAIMAH // A teenager died and three other young Emiratis were injured when their car collided head-on with a bus on Wednesday.

The bus driver lost control of his vehicle in the rain and mud on the curving mountain roads in a southern wadi.

The bus was empty when it hit the car containing the four Emiratis. One, aged 18, died and the others - two aged 18 and one aged 23 - were taken to hospital.

Col Abdullah Ali of the RAK Police traffic department warned drivers to stick to speed limits and exercise caution while driving, particularly in the southern part of the emirate where rainwater washes on to roads from the mountains.

In a separate incident, two Pakistani men were admitted to Saqr Hospital with minor abrasions after their vehicle crashed into a camel in Ras Al Khaimah.

The men were discharged on the same day but the camel died.
