ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi Police have reiterated a warning to parents about the dangers of letting their children ride self-balancing scooters.
Parents should prevent their children from riding these scooters in the street and in-between vehicles as this puts their lives in danger.
Colonel Jamal Salem Al Ameri, Chief of Public Relations Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, warned against riding these scooters without taking the necessary safety measures such as wearing appropriate clothes and protective gear.
First Lieutenant Hamid Mohammed Al Balooshi, from the Public Relations Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, said officers have prepared an educational model of a child riding a self-balancing scooter in addition to safety guidelines in Arabic and English.
The model and guidelines will be used in exhibitions raising traffic safety awareness and showing the dangers of riding these scooters
