The UAE Search and Rescue Team (SRT) has discussed with authorities in Fujairah ways to deal with the effects of heavy rains, in line with the directives of Sheikh Saif, deputy prime minister and minister of interior.

Among the things discussed during a meeting at Fujairah police headquarters were: evacuation and shelter plans, construction of “industrial lakes” to collect rainwater, and ways to provide medical care for the affected population.

Col Mohamed bin Nayea, deputy chief of Fujairah Police, said that everything is under control now and that the current measures are just precautionary. He added that coordination is maintained between police leaders across the UAE, and that the preparations are continuing to respond to any emergencies as a result of rainwater in the eastern coast.

  • Overseas companies targeting investors in other jurisdictions - this can make legal recovery difficult.
  • Hard-selling tactics - creating urgency, offering 'exclusive' deals.
