SHARJAH // The Sharjah Consultative Council held its 13th and final session of the 2010-11 legislative year today, but there was no discussion of the petrol shortage that has hammered the emirate for weeks.
The SCC speaker, Dr Obaid al Hajri, told The National after the session that and it was not their right to discuss the matter, which is being dealt with by the Sharjah Executive Council.

"The crisis is being handled by a higher authority," he said. "We have trust it will be solved amicably by the Executive Council."
Enoc and Eppco petrol stations have been out of petrol in the Northern Emirates for the last three weeks, causing long queues and outages at other filling stations.
The Executive Council issued a 48-hour ultimatum last week for the Enoc group to explain the reasons for the shortage. The company has said its Northern Emirates stations have been closed for technical upgrades, but none of Sharjah's stations have shown any signs of such work.
There has been no public communication about a response to the ultimatum.
In its session today, the SCC reviewed its previous sessions and ended with a closing ceremony honouring all those who worked to ensure its success.
