No smoking in Ajman’s public parks on May 31

Smoking has been banned in public parks by the Department of Municipality and Planning in Ajman as part of World No Tobacco Day on May 31.

For the second year in a row smoking and shisha in parks has been banned on the orders of Sheikh Rashed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, ruler of Ajman.

The department's director general, Ahmed Saif Al Muheri, noted that the department plans to hold several awareness events leading up to the event with Ajman Specialised Hospital and the Mushairef Health Centre.

He added the department continues to implement awareness programmes for park visitors and school students about the dangers of tobacco.
