New school first in Ajman to use IB curriculum

AJMAN // Ajman Academy was launched yesterday by Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid, the emirate's Crown Prince.

"Education in the UAE remains the focus of development undertaken by the leadership of the UAE," said Sheikh Ammar.

The Academy will use the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, which is recognised by university admissions offices worldwide, said Anthony Cashin, foundation director of the academy.

"The school will open its doors in September 2012 to students from nursery age through to Grade 5. Highly experienced teachers from around the world will instruct our children," he added.

The 60,000 square metre campus is one of the best education facilities in the emirate and includes music and drama rooms, an art studio, and indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

Parents in the emirate previously had to take their children to schools in neighbouring emirates to attain an international curriculum education.
