DUBAI // A nanny was caught with methamphetamines that she had used and was intending to sell, a court has been told.
The Filipina, 41, had 0.24 grams of the drug wrapped in a tissue in her hand when she was stopped by police in Al Muraqqabat in September, Dubai Criminal Court heard.
The woman said a friend asked her to supply him with Dh300 worth of drugs, a police officer told the court. He later increased the amount to Dh1,000.
The nanny obtained the drugs from a friend and went to deliver them when police arrested her. Her urine sample showed traces of drugs.
She denied a charge of possession of drugs with intent to sell and told the court they were for her own use, admitting to consumption.
The next hearing was scheduled for on December 15.
