Bicycle and motorbike owners have been warned they'll be fined if caught chaining their rides to lamp posts.
Abu Dhabi Municipality handed out 40 warnings in a recent sweep and said Dh3,000 fines would follow for owners that fail to remove their bikes.
The authority said it would act to "curtail all eyesores" and keep the city streets tidy.
Before issuing fines, inspectors serve a three-day warning to the bike owner. If a bike is removed, the owner will have to pay the fine and collect it from an impound area.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
