Dubai Municipality handed 326 people to the authorities last month for selling illegal goods or performing illegal activities on the streets. These included selling counterfeit CDs and DVDs, begging and unauthorised car washing.
Ibrahim Obeid Marzouqi, the head of markets management at the municipality, said civic inspectors conduct daily spot checks and pass on the illegal workers to the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department to be deported.
Almost 4,389 counterfeit products including clothes, perfumes, cameras and watches were confiscated.
