Almost 4,000 Emiratis working in the private sector have benefited from cards entitling them to discounts and special offers.

The Ministry of Labour says 2,484 have signed up for the Absher cards, and 1,470 for Adnoc’s Rahal cards.

The cards are aimed at tempting more Emiratis to work in the private sector, and offer a variety of discounts on goods and services at participating outlets.

Humaid bin Deemas, under secretary of the Ministry of Labour, said the initiative was in line with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, who has dedicated this year to Emiratisation.

Mr Deemas praised Adnoc for contributing to the efforts and urged other companies to join the programme.

Abdulla Al Dhaheri, general manager of Adnoc Distribution, said its participation was driven by a national duty to promote the Emiratisation of the private sector.
