Abu Dhabi Police issued 1,565 permits for firearms purchases and 331 certificates of good conduct during the four-day Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition.
Police took an average of 20 minutes to issue each firearms licence and 15 minutes to issue certificates.
Officers worked onsite to verify citizens' Emirates ID cards, fingerprints and process licences.
Security teams worked for 12 hours a day at the exhibition.
