The Government yesterday urged ministers to "redouble their efforts" to implement initiatives which had been set out in a federal government restructuring plan, the state news agency WAM reported.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, met federal ministers yesterday at the presidential palace to evaluate the progress made by each ministry during the first year of the plan's implementation and set goals to be reached during the second phase.
The ministers discussed how best to meet those goals as efficiently as possible.
The Cabinet also discussed and agreed on how the federal human resources authority, which was established by a federal law passed last year, would be operated.
The ministers also entrusted the Ministry of Finance with establishing and overseeing a general debt authority as part of a federal bill which would seek to "regulate, issue and manage the state's general debt", according to WAM.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, the Deputy Prime Minister, also attended the meeting.

- Jim Polehinke was the co-pilot and sole survivor of a 2006 Comair flight that crashed in Lexington, Kentucky, killing 49.
