SHARJAH // Two men, one of whom was wanted by Interpol, have been arrested for allegedly stealing vehicles in Sharjah and neighbouring emirates.
Syrian A A A, 58, and Palestinian A A Q, 36, were arrested in the central region on suspicion of stealing a trailer valued at Dh40,000 and putting it up for sale in a used car dealership in another emirate, police said.
Several vehicles thefts were reported in the central region, which prompted CID officers to launch an investigation that led to the men being arrested.
According to police, one of the men is wanted by the Interpol for a similar crime in another country.
During interrogations, the Arab men admitted to carrying out other robberies in different parts of Sharjah and other emirates, police said.
The stolen trailer was returned to its owner.
The men were referred to Public Prosecution to face trial.
