Manny Pacquiao iPhone game released today

Manny Pacquiao: Pound for Pound: Volume 1 was released in iTunes App store today.

ABU DHABI // A new video game featuring superstar Filipino fighter Manny Pacquiao was released today on the iTunes App Store.

The action-packed fighting game - Manny Pacquiao: Pound for Pound: Volume 1 - was developed by Abu Dhabi-based Karkadann Games, and can be bought as a universal app for IOS devices, including the iPhone, the iPod touch and the iPad.

Pound for Pound, which has 3D-rendered graphics, shows the boxer as a martial arts hero who roams around underground fighting pits in search of his childhood friend, the beautiful Maricel, who has been kidnapped in a village raid.

As Manny's character ventures out to battle evil in the shape of a kingpin and his army of henchmen, players can execute his legendary punches using a combination of martial arts techniques.

His moves have names like "the dragon uppercut", "the whirlwind kick" and "crushing skull". But, out of respect for Pacquiao's values, the game is void of any bloodshed or weapons.

The release of the game coincides with the Filipino's recent November 12 fight in Las Vegas where he won against Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez.
