A man sexually assaulted a girl for two years before her mother accidentally saw a pornographic video the defendant sent her daughter, Dubai Criminal Court heard on Sunday.
The Indian defendant allegedly began molesting the girl when she was 11-years-old at her family’s home in Bur Dubai.
The child told police that touched her inappropriately and kissed her.
"He told me that if I told my family, they will give me up and sent me back to India," the girl said.
In August, the girl's mother was checking her daughter's e-mail when she noticed an e-mail from the defendant titled "+18".
"I opened the clip and saw it was porn. I was shocked and spoke to my daughter who told me everything. She told me how he used to touch her and then I remembered how she would always be unhappy and even angry whenever he used to visit us at home," said the 47-year-old mother who called police.
A police corporal said that when he questioned the defendant, he told him he loved the victim and she loved him back.
A medical report showed that the girl had been sexually abused for a long period of time.
When he appeared in court on Sunday, the accused denied charges of sex assault on a minor, sending pornographic material to a minor and inciting sin.
The next hearing is scheduled for December 19.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.

Moral education lessons for young people is needed in a rapidly changing world, the head of the programme said.
Alanood Al Kaabi, head of programmes at the Education Affairs Office of the Crown Price Court - Abu Dhabi, said: "The Crown Price Court is fully behind this initiative and have already seen the curriculum succeed in empowering young people and providing them with the necessary tools to succeed in building the future of the nation at all levels.
