Man found dead in Fujairah apartment

Police said a neighbour who lived in the same building had called Fujairah Police to report a foul smelling coming out of a nearby flat.

FUJAIRAH // The body of a 49-year-old Indian man was found hanging from the ceiling in his flat in Fujairah on Friday.

A neighbour who lived in the same building had called the Fujairah Police operations room at 2pm that day to report a foul smell coming out of the flat.

CID officers along with an ambulance went to the building and found the decomposing body hanging from the ceiling, Fujairah Police said.

The body was taken to the Fujairah Public Hospital forensics lab for an autopsy. Police said that an investigation is under way to identify the cause of death.
