ABU DHABI // A man caught carrying hashish in his wife’s lingerie was cleared by the criminal court on Wednesday.
Briton MR was caught by Abu Dhabi airport police after they inspected his luggage and found herbs that contained the drug.
He argued that they were scented herbs to keep the lingerie fresh and his lawyer presented to court the sticker from the product that says it is not suitable for human use.
Therefore, the court ruled that he did not have criminal intent in bringing the hashish into the country, and the amount of the drug in the product turned out to be very small.
