SHARJAH // Emirati households will receive a discount of up to 15 per cent on installation fees charged by the Sharjah Energy and Water Authority (Sewa).
Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, on Sunday approved the lower installation fees for electricity, water and gas for citizens in the emirate.
“Emirati homes in the emirate will receive 10 to 15 per cent reduction in installation fees for SEWA services,” said Mariam bin Hashim, director of the Common Services Department in Sharjah.
According to the director, the department carried out an extensive study comparing services and fees in Sharjah with other emirates and neighbouring countries.
Based on the results of the research, the lowered fees were suggested and approved by Dr Sheikh Sultan.
