Lorry driver arrested for trying to smuggle 213kg of hashish into Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Customs said the driver, who was of Asian origin, was delivering the drugs to an unemployed man, from a Gulf country.

ABU DHABI // A lorry driver has been arrested for trying to smuggle 213 kilograms of hashish through the border into Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Customs said the driver, who was of Asian origin, was delivering the drugs to an unemployed man, from a Gulf country.

This man had been under police surveillance for a while and he was arrested, along with the truck driver.

Police said further investigations into the case are continuing.
